My Life Hacks

Hey!
Where would I be without my life hacks? Definitely unorganised and forgetful! Over the years I have found and adapted a few life hacks for myself if that's for at home or in school.

Boost Charge Your Phone

We've all experienced when you need to go somewhere for the day and your phone is less than 20% and you know you won't have time to charge it up until you get home. I have used this trick so many times to get me out of a dead phone, this cuts down time and charges up your phone fully in about 40 minutes. I'm not to sure can you do this on an Android phone but I presume there is a variation. Firstly turn off everything Mobile Data, Bluetooth, Wifi etc, activate Airplane mode and put your brightness to the lowest. Next head into Settings - General - Accessibility - Greyscale. Once all that's been done, plug your phone in and get charging.

Fresher Hair

Nothing worse than waking up with not so fresh hair and I hate the feeling of it too. The night before I normally put in some dry shampoo and during the night while I move around in my sleep the dry shampoo absorbs the oil and the white cast disappears. Also, it's one less thing to do in the morning.

Locker Essentials

Another school related one! If you have a locker then there's a few things you might need. I always have magnets to put my timetable to the inside of the door which is great as I don't have to take out my journal. Also, try to keep your locker tidy as it's harder to find books when it's messy and you can end up damaging books. Keep a spare durable shopping bag in your locker just in case a. your bag is too heavy for all your books or b. your books can't all hit into your bag.

Handy Reminder

If you are like me and sometimes forgets to bring something home from school, write it on your hand. I know this isn't really a hack but if you put a memo on your hand you will definitely see it. I use this constantly for getting homework from my locker at the end of the day, so I can spend the least time and get going home. If you are afraid it may rub off, write it near to your wrist as it is less likely to rub off there.

Log Off

I don't mean log off your phone for the rest of your life to be more productive but instead delete the app you spend most time scrolling through to procrastinate and only let yourself log in on your browser. My procrastination app of choice is Facebook as you can scroll for days and it will never end. I find using a browser to use Facebook makes me spend less time as the website isn't as polished as the app and can lag. If you want to take it a little further, log out each time you use your app of choice so you have to enter your password to go into it again. You won't feel like using it as you have to enter your password or figure out what your password is.

Pomodoro Technique

Hands up who likes to procrastinate? Me! The pomodoro technique is a time management method that helps you focus on a task for 25 minutes and then get a 5 minute break. I find this great for doing a couple of those little 5 minute to dos, editing photos, scheduling tweets and studying. I use it for an array of things. There are 2 good apps to help stick to this technique, Tide (free) and Forest (€2.30). I prefer Tide as if you have to cancel the session for whatever reason they don't mind while if you do it in Forest you get a dead tree.

Emergency Kit

An emergency kit is perfect for emergencies, if you cut yourself, need to tie up your hair or it the red sea comes to town, a kit with everything you might need is important. In my emergency kit, I have a body spray, blister plasters, mints, money, pads, tampons, plasters, tissues, money, lip balm, hand cream and some painkillers. There are some things I use more than others but it's nice to have something for any problem.

Schedule EVERYTHING!

I don't mean schedule your whole life, if you are into that then do it but me personally I can't stick to a strict schedule. If you are a blogger, YouTuber, Instagramer or like to tweet a lot, I would recommend to schedule. I schedule everything when it comes to online, my blog posts, YouTube videos, tweets and Instagram pictures and it means I don't have to worry about not tweeting in the past few days or forgetting to publish a blog post. It means that I don't have to worry when I mightn't be near a laptop.

Armour For Your Charger

Apple chargers are the worst, they don't last very long and always end up breaking really easily. I hate paying €25 for a charger that doesn't last very long, so I took to the internet to find a way to protect it. You take a spring from a pen and stretch it out a little and wrap it around the wire and place it at both ends. Be careful when doing this as you might get stabbed by the spring. This protects your charger from exposing wires near the ends and have another level of re-enforcements. Also, you'll know which charger is yours as it has springs on it.

Do you have any interesting life hacks?

Thanks for being awesome,

Top 10 Makeup Products Under €10

Hey!
We all like a good bargain and me being a student I don't like to splurge too much on makeup as money doesn't grow on trees and higher end makeup is expensive. Drugstore makeup is amazing now, there are many dupes for their more expensive counterparts. I thought I would share with you my favourite products under €10 For any of my international gals, €10 is the same as $11.50 and £9.10.

Kiko Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick

I featured this in a first impressions recently, click HERE to check it out, and I knew from the first application that I loved it. For €6.95 the quality is amazing and the packaging looks like something from a spy movie which I adore. This lipstick is very buttery but lasts like a liquid lipstick and doesn't dry out my lips. It is so pigmented and doesn't go into the grooves in my lips like some liquid lipsticks I own.

Flormar Watermelon Balm

I am obsessed with watermelon, the fruit, the scent, everything! When I saw this in a pharmacy I knew I needed to get it. I love the watermelon scent, it's sweet and is as if you have just cut into a fresh juicy watermelon. I love the pink tint that it gives your lips, it reminds me a lot of Maybelline Baby Lips and Benefit's Benebalm. It is not overly moisturising which is the only problem I have with it. Besides that with a price of €4.95 and an SPF of 15 what more would you want.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Is it weird to say that I like the smell of the NYX Lip Cream? Yeah, I thought so. This was the first liquid lipstick I bought and I still love it. I feel that NYX is a relatively good brand that doesn't set you back a whole pile. These cost €7.20 and it's perfect if you want to try out a colour that you aren't too sure you'll like. I loved the pigment and formula of this lipstick. It doesn't dry out my lips and lasts quite well except for when eating but I have never found a lipstick that doesn't budge while eating. It doesn't sink into the creases of my lips, that's a bonus, as I hate when that happens.

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream

Birthday Suit is my perfect nude and I love it to pieces but there are 2 things that aren't so desirable. Firstly the applicator is wonky, I find it far too long and it applies too much product and if I don't prep my lips it can go a little crusty and go into the creases of my lips. This thing does not budge no matter how hard you try to it is one of the worst lipsticks to swatch as it takes ages to come off but that's not always a bad thing. The packaging is pretty too and for €7 they aren't too bad.

PS Pro Longwear Mineralized Foundation

I was a little skeptical getting this foundation as it was only €6 in Primark but boy it went beyond my expectations. I wrote a post on it if you want to see my full opinion on it, click HERE. It is pale enough for me and lasts all day, I think it is as good as my holy grail Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, actually it's much better as it's cruelty free.

Kiko Glow Fusion Powder Highlighter

This is the most expensive product on this list at €9.95. Yet again, Kiko slays at the packaging game. I got this in 01 Brilliant Champagne and it is a subtle highlight for the paler people. I don't like a too intense highlight and this does the job, it is also buildable if I want a more bold highlight.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer

This is a high coverage concealer that hides any of my spots and dark under eye circles. I love the doe foot applicator which helps to do the upside down triangle under my eyes. I know I am not the first blogger to talk about how wonderful this concealer is. They have added a lighter shade to the already pale Porcellian. It lasts all day and I have no problem with it oxidising and at €3.95, it's as cheap as chips.

Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel

I have ranted and raved about how good this eyebrow gel everywhere, here, Instagram and Snapchat. Even though I haven't tried Benefit's Gimme Brow, I think it is a dupe as it is a coloured gel that contains fibres to make your eyebrows look fabulous. You can get 6 Essence Make Me Brows for the price of 1 Gimme Brow. It never gets crispy and adds definition and a third dimension to flat brows.
Unfortunately, they have discontinued one of their brunette shade but there's a blonde and a darker brown one.

NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade

My brows have upped their game since I got this brow product. For the days that I want a full face of makeup or an intense brow I go for this. It is simple and easy to use just make sure to have a thin angled brush. It is easy to blend out and make the brows look like brows instead of harsh blocks of colour.

Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Eyeshadow Palette

This is a dupe of the Naked 3 palette that's 1/10th the price. The pigmentation is good and lasts well on my eyes if I have primed my eyes correctly. Packaging wise, it is very plasticey but hasn't fallen apart yet. The only thing is I find it hard to make eye looks from this palette alone, I normally use this palette with the others in my collection to make a look. I don't know is it me or is it the palette but I think it's down to the fact that I prefer matte shades and there's only 5 in this palette.

What are some of your favourite makeup products under €10?

Netflix Obsessed

Hey!
Since I got Netflix I have become a little obsessed, I use it nearly every day watching the next episode of my new-found favourite show. Today I thought I would share with you the shows that I have been loving the past few months. I am an avid TV show person, I watch movies from time to time but I never feel like I have the time to sit down and watch one.

Orange is the New Black

OITNB was the main reason I wanted to get Netflix, everyone was watching it and I wanted to join in on the club. The first three seasons were amazing, I loved the plot, the character's backstories and the actors themselves. Season 4 and 5 were a little different for me as I didn't enjoy them as much, some characters who once were mains faded into the background and the plot felt like it was stretched too far and the episodes become boring with nothing really happening.

RuPaul's Drag Race

This show is the one I go to when I'm having a bad day or just want a little pick me up. I'm not the biggest reality TV show fan but I LOVE this show. It is a drag queen competition and of course, when there are a load of huge personalities there is bound to be conflict. I have watched season 2 and currently watching season 3. My favourite queens are Pandora Boxx and Raja. I love the fashion and the funny challenges the queens get thrown.

American Horror Story

I watched the first 4 seasons 2 years ago and I loved revisiting the same seasons again. I am now onto season 5 which gives so much creepier vibes than the previous 4 seasons. I love that the majority of the cast stay the same every season, hello Evan Peters! For anyone who hasn't watched AHS, it's not a horror show, it's creepy yes but it doesn't leave you restless at night thinking of one of the characters are going to come and get you.

How I Met Your Mother

This is one of those classic shows that you can watch over and over. I've never completed the whole of HIMYM but I am slowly making progress through it. I use this show as my buffer one, if I have nothing else I want to watch or don't have enough time to watch a different show I'll watch it.

Riverdale

I had no idea what to expect when I started watching Riverdale, which is the name of the town where the story is set. It reminds me a lot of High School Musical, there's a Troy Bolton who wants to play sport and do music, there's a Ryan and Sharpay Evans except Ryan gets murdered and Sharpay is still Sharpay. I haven't sussed out any of the other characters but Cole Sprouse is in it. The second season is out in October which will be interested to see what happens next.

Sherlock

Sherlock can't be described more than amazing. It is a modern take on Sherlock Holmes, the episodes are an unusual length, probably due to the main character being a little unusual, at 90 minutes. I love mystery and crime TV shows like the likes of CSI and Criminal Minds and Sherlock takes that and adds so much more. The only problem I have with it is the length it takes for one season to be released, approx 2 years which is heartbreaking when you are completely up to date and still need more of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.

What shows have you been watching recently?

Thanks for being awesome,

Ain't Nobody Got Time For That

Hey!
Everyone has things that they don't have time for and I am definitely one of them. I don't consider myself lazy but there are some things I would rather not do as I could be doing something much more important. So, here are a couple things I don't have time for.

Making My Bed

I don't see the point in making your bed when you are going to sleep in it that night and mess it up again. I like to move when I sleep so my bed normally looks like a bomb hit it the next morning. Since my duvet is upside down and my blanket was kicked to the bottom of the bed I just don't see the point in spending 10 minutes trying to put my bed back to perfect condition.

Shaving My Legs Regularly

I love having smooth legs but I couldn't be bothered shaving my legs every day or two. I find it takes too much time that I could spend it happily scrolling through Twitter and too much effort while you're trying to do yoga with razor blades and try not to cut yourself. Also, the razor burn is the worst, but there is nothing better afterwards then stroking your freshly shaven legs.

Drying My Hair

I have thick and long hair which doesn't really mix well when you blow dry your hair or let it naturally dry. It takes me 30 minutes to blow dry my hair from soaking wet and I just couldn't be bothered to do it twice a week. I sometimes blow dry my hair, on a rare occasion that it, and my arm always cramps up which is no fun.

Tan

Most of Ireland is obsessed with that sun kissed glow that you can't get here as the sun comes out for 5 minutes right before a huge shower of rain. I can't tan as I've been blessed with fair skin so my alternative is to fake tan which seems like a lot of effort. You have to shave and exfoliate a day beforehand, put on the tan, make sure it applies ok to your knees and elbows, don't use an oil based moisturiser. It seems like a lot of work for something that might turn out badly and I hate the smell.

Washing My Hair Daily

I was one of those people when I was 14 who would wash their hair every day. I know now that it's really bad for your hair to wash it every day as you are getting rid of its natural oil which causes it to produce more oil. This like with drying my hair. It takes so long for me to wash my hair, I have to shampoo twice and then conditioner. Also, you have to get yourself hyped up for it which is another 30 minutes added on to the clock.

I don't mean to sound like a whiny little bitch but I thought I would share with you what I don't have any time for.

Is there anything you don't have time for?

Summer Roundup 2017

Hey!
Next week I am back to school for my final year and instead of moping about this I thought I would share with you a roundup of all the things I did during my holidays. This is my third year to do one, if you would like to read the previous two click HERE and HERE. Before my holidays started I did a bucket list everything I wanted to do.

Reading Material

I read 5 books, I am delighted with that as most of them were fairly thick and I went through phases of reading. I have hit my book challenge target of 12 books already which I am pumped about. I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Asking For It by Louise O'Neill, The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas and I am currently reading Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. I didn't get all the books I intended on reading read but I got a good bit through the list.

TV And Movies

Netflix has been my main obsession recently and I will take about my favourite shows in a future post. I completely watched Orange is the New Black and Sherlock. I am currently watching How I Met Your Mother, RuPaul's Drag Race, American Horror Story Hotel and Riverdale. Movies wise, I went to see Despicable Me 3 and Baby Driver in cinema, Despicable Me 3 was watchable but I loved Baby Driver. I watched from the comfort of my own home White Chicks, a classic, Legally Blonde, RV and Maid in Manhattan.

YouTube Relaunch

I was getting sick of doing all music related stuff, so I decided to give it a little makeover and relaunch it, I even named it Totally Ró too. Don't worry though, I won't be moving over to YouTube and forgetting about my blog. My blog comes first and YouTube comes second. I have enjoyed making videos especially my Edinburgh one.

Edinburgh

Speaking of Edinburgh, I loved Edinburgh. It is such a beautiful city with loads to do. There's not many places, apart from London, that I would go back to but Edinburgh is definitely going to be revisited. Next time I hope to go during Fringe comedy festival, it will be much busier there but I have done a lot of the touristy bits, so I can just avoid them. A lot of Irish comedians go to Fringe as it is the place where you will make or break in the comedy industry.

Money Saved

I saved €300 for my car, so I have €1000 saved so far. I hope to get another grand saved before I start looking into cars, I think €2000 would be a good budget. I am glad with my progress as it has just taken me over a year to save that up.

Snap Snap

I am loving Snapchat recently, cheeky plug @totally_ro or my snapcode is at the bottom of my sidebar. My snapscore has doubled since May as I have been constantly snapping every day and chatting about everything under the sun. I show what I am doing and where I am going. I will miss snapping every day when school returns as I won't have as much time to do it.

Scrapbooking

I updated my scrapbook finally with 12 new pages. I love scrapbooking, there's something peaceful about it. Mine isn't the prettiest one but I love it to pieces as it has a lot of adventures in it from the past year.

Exam Attendant

You may or may not know but I was an exam attendant during the Junior and Leaving Cert exams in June. It may sound weird but I really enjoyed it and had an absolute blast with my other classmates doing it. The pay was great and going down town, which we are not allowed to do during the year, was fun as we chilled in the playground as we were such big children.

What have you gotten up to during your Summer holidays?

Thanks for being awesome,

A Face Full Of First Impressions

Hey!
I've bought a lot of new makeup recently between being on holidays in Edinburgh and doing a little bit too much retail therapy at home. I've collected quite a few new things and I thought I would make a look out of some new things I got. Of course, I will be using some makeup I have had for a while. The full list of products will be at the bottom of this post.

Catrice Glam and Doll Curl and Volume Mascara

I was in need of a new mascara before I went on holidays and I heard Laura from Lauras Views raving about this mascara and for under €5 I decided to try it. I have naturally very droopy lashes and using this mascara and Laura's Lash Trick keeps my lashes curled all day. The wand is different to what I am used to as it is a bristly. The only thing I dislike about it is it smudges underneath my lashes within 5 hours which is frustrating bringing q-tips around.

Kiko Glow Fusion Powder Highlighter in 01

I went a little mad in Kiko when I was in Scotland but it was worth it. This highlighter is nice on pale skin and isn't glittery or patchy. Can I just say how pretty the packaging it, it feels like it cost more than £10. The swatch is very hard to see as it is so pale, like myself, but it is right above the writing.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I see why everyone and their dog raves about this beauty blender as I have fallen in love with it. I use this to blend in my concealer and it works amazingly giving a perfect airbrush finish. The only disadvantage is it soaks up some product and it has to be replaced every 6-12 months but for the way it applies foundation and concealer it is worth it.

Essence Make Me Brow in Browny Brows

After hearing that my beloved Essence Make Me Brow in Soft Browny Brows is being discontinued I decided to pick up two more and I decided to try the darker one to see if it is a good replacement. It has the exact same formula which is great but it is very dark. It is fine if I want to create a darker brow but I won't use it every day for a 'no makeup' makeup look.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights and Contour Pro Palette

I bought this in the Edinburgh Airport after I wanted to up my contour game and realised I had no contour shade that suited my pale complexion. I have used so far both highlighters, the white powder and the two lightest bronzers. The lightest one is perfect for contouring and doesn't look muddy on my face. The packaging is the hard cheap plastic but the products are good so far.

Kiko Lip Combo

I never had a matching lipstick and lip liner duo, so I got Kiko Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick in 117 and Kiko Creamy Colour Comfort Lip Liner in 306. Kiko has such beautiful packaging, I feel so cool clicking the top button to get the lipstick out. This is a bright orangey red and I love it as I am trying to get into more reds. It is a lipstick but lasts quite a while and only a little budges when I eat which I was surprised about as it is a lipstick. The lip liner helps a lot with the longevity of the lip colour but it dries out my lips a little, I'll need to put on some lip balm on beforehand.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

I bought this in the Duty Free in Dublin Airport as it was cheaper than getting the NYX one. I've noticed it has helped my eye makeup last a little longer but apart from that there are no huge improvements. It smells good and the spray dispenser actually does a good job. I don't plan on using this every day as it is expensive to repurchase it (unless I get it in the airport again).

Real Techniques Setting Brush

I bought this on a slight whim and it has worked out as I needed a highlighter brush, my fan brush just wasn't doing the trick any more. It applies the highlighter lightly and takes a few goes to get it up to the intensity that I want. I love how soft it and and how easy it is to clean. I love all the Real Techniques brushes I own and I think this one will be no different.

I'm A Jobless Student Again

Hey!
On the 2nd of August I quit my job working in a cafe and I feel 100% better about it. It may seem weird but that job was dragging me down and making me into this unhappy and miserable person. Everything suffered, my blog, my happiness, my hobbies and I always felt anxious. I only had this job for 4 months which isn't a whole pile of time but it felt like years. I thought I would share the reasons behind quitting my jobs and the few reasons I stuck it out for so long.

Crappy wages and crappy hours
As an 18-year old, I was only €6.50 an hour which is an under-age wage which McDonalds don't even give their same aged employees. I wasn't getting many hours either, during the June and July I was getting around 0-2 days a week and the earliest I would start was 11am and I would finish at 6pm or whenever we finished cleaning up.

An even crappier boss
At first I thought she was just hard on me because I was new, and she wanted to push me to preform at my best but really she was just a bully picking at stupid things like not washing or cleaning things fast enough even though there was plenty of delft that was ready to be used. If she asked you to do something she would never call your name or even look at you which personally I thought I wasn't being spoken to. She also never learned my name even though there were 2 other Róisíns, both who left, working there. I would check the roster and check if she was working the days I was and if she was I just hoped she went home early, or she would be in a good mood, that rarely happened. She hated me and I always got the sense from her that she thought I did things to annoy her but that was never the case.

Not finishing at a specific time
I never knew what time I would be finished at due to tidying up at the end of the day takes a different amount of time due to the amount of staff present and when the last customer was served. I could be finished at 6pm or one time we didn't get out the door until 7:45pm.

Feeling stupid, useless and unhappy
I felt like I was a dysfunctional robot as I kept doing things wrong but I was never shown how to do it right. Nevertheless, I still got in trouble. I felt like crying most days as I normally try to do my best but that was never good enough. I have smiled more the past week and a half than I have the past 4 months.

No training or shown how to do things
This stems from the last reason but I never got trained or shown how to do things. On the first day I was thrown a dish cloth and told to start drying stuff and put them back in their place. I didn't know where anything went, so I put some things in wrong places by accident.

I stopped doing things I loved
I lost interest in blogging but I ploughed through as I presumed it was just a little writers block. I haven't picked up my guitar or ukulele since around 2 months ago. I haven't done anything really musically. I lost interest in my YouTube channel. I didn't want to read and I would prefer to watch Netflix as I could escape from my head without thinking too much.

I felt anxious a lot
I get anxious, that's just who I am but I was getting anxious over stupid little things that I never did before. I was anxious going to work, thinking about work, waiting for the roster to go up, it never ended.

The reasons I stayed for so long are pretty few, the money and the girls I worked with. It was nice having that money going into my account each week that I could spend on whatever I wanted. I could pay for Netflix (I'm still going to keep it) and if I saw something in the shops I could buy it without worrying about if I'll have enough money to do something else. The girls I worked with were lovely, they were friendly, great to chat with and always helped you out if needed. There was one girl who always cheered me up when I was feeling down and I am going to miss her a lot.

There were too many reasons to quit and with a meltdown during having dinner with my family I realised I needed to get out of this quick and I did and I am happy.

I know this is a little more serious that I usually write but I wanted to share my experience. If you are dealing with something similar please try to get out of it or talk to someone. Nobody needs to be this unhappy. I will always respond if you contact me.

Thanks for being awesome,

My Travels: Edinburgh

Hey!
During the last week of July I went to Edinburgh for 5 days and it was a lovely break to explore somewhere new. I had never been to Scotland before but I definitely want to go back, maybe next time during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was a family holiday and we stayed with my uncle who runs an AirBnB near the Royal Mile. The accommodation was amazing and so central to everywhere in Edinburgh city. I have a video up on my YouTube channel of everything I got up to, click HERE.

Once as we got off the tram and dropped our luggage at the apartment, we headed up the Arthur's Seat as you can see it was an absolutely beautiful day and the views are out of this world. We ended up not going up to Arthur's Seat as we were all tired from travelling, but we went up a hill nearby that had an amazing view.

We went to this cool park which I completely forget the name of but it had yet another beautiful view and had this cool architecture which of course we needed to get a dramatic picture up there. A few little tips for going to Edinburgh 1. Bring comfy shoes, I brought my new Adidas Superstars, and they worked a treat. 2. Bring a rain jacket, the weather is as unpredictable as the Irish weather. 3. Reusable bags, have one in your bag at all times as if you want to go shopping you'll have to pay 10p for a bag and let's be real nobody wants to pay it.

Next of course was Edinburgh Castle. Unfortunately, the good weather didn't last for very long as Tuesday was very overcast but it didn't rain. Edinburgh Castle has another great view of the city, if you get a good day, we could see most of the city but the pictures were dark and dreary. If you are thinking of going to the Castle I would recommend booking your tickets online as it saves you the time for queuing which can be really long. We did the quick guided tour which was so interesting and didn't bore me completely which was a miracle. The best thing about them is that they are free and start every 15 minutes.

After the castle, we walked down the hill to the Botanic Gardens which was beautiful. I enjoyed spending the afternoon strolling around the beautiful grounds.

We did a bus tour of the city which I liked I guess but it wasn't my favourite thing. Also, we did the Edinburgh Dungeons which was good but I personally wouldn't go back to do it as it just wasn't my cup of tea but the rest of my family enjoyed it.

Of course visiting the Sherlock Holmes statue was mandatory due to my recent obsession of the TV series Sherlock.

It wouldn't be a trip to Edinburgh if you don't go to The Elephant House where JK Rowling wrote some of Harry Potter. We passed this multiple times but there was always a queue out the door, so we never dared to go in but one evening we got in and it was amazing. I enjoyed the Harry Potter atmosphere with the bathroom graffitied with Harry Potter stuff, the ceiling is full of it too. The drawers at the tables are full of fan letters to JK Rowling and from her table, the view of Edinburgh Castle looks like Hogwarts. Another place where JK wrote some of Harry Potter is Spoon though in 1997 it was a pub, they till have the original windows. The food was delicious too.

The National Museum of Scotland is also a good spot to go if you have an hour or two to spare. It is huge and has numerous exhibitions of anything under the sun, technology, animal planet and fashion. I didn't get to look in the fashion section as we ran out of time and had to go.

I, off course, did a little shopping in Kiko, Superdrug and Primark which you'll see popping up in the next few blog posts.

If you are into illusions, which I totally am, I recommend Camera Obscura and the World of Illusions. I didn't take any photos her due to illusions are hard to photography right but I have a little section in my video, sorry for another cheeky plug, it'll give you a great idea of what's in store there.

On the last evening we went on a walk in Princes Street Gardens which was a 2-minute walk from where we were staying. It was nice taking everything at a slow pace and watch the city life go by.  It was a nice way to end the city break just enjoying what this city had to offer.

Make sure to check out my YouTube video of my trip.

Have you gone anywhere nice recently.

Thanks for being awesome,
